- February: Indians fleeing Mohawk anger camp in Corlear's Hook and Pavonia.
- 25 February: Ducth soliders raid the Indian camp at Pavonia, killing 80.
- October: Settlers send an assessment of the Indian situation to the Dutch West India Company; many tribes have allied against the Dutch and are raiding their crops.
- October: "Kieft's War" begins; it will last two years and see the destruction of most of New Amsterdam's outer regions.
